The Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center (PRCAC) is growing, and we are excited to announce that we are currently hiring a Therapist to join our team.
At PRCAC, our mission is to provide hope, healing, and justice for children who have experienced abuse. Every day, our team works alongside law enforcement, CPS, prosecutors, and community partners to support children and families across Hood, Erath, and Somervell counties. About the Role
The therapist will provide trauma-informed counseling services to children who have experienced abuse and to their protective family members.
This therapist provides trauma-informed counseling services to children who have experienced abuse and their protective family members. This role supports healing and resilience through assessment, individualized treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the child’s healing and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic services including individual and family counseling.
Conduct client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records in required data systems.
Recommend follow-up services or resources for clients and families as needed.
Maintain case files and documentation in compliance with state licensing rules and PRCAC policies.
Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT), staff, and agency meetings, providing updates on client progress.
Prepare for court proceedings and provide testimony when subpoenaed.
Stay current on research and best practices related to child abuse counseling.
Follow ethical guidelines established by the appropriate state licensing board.
Attend required training, professional development opportunities, and conferences.
Collaborate with community agencies to support coordinated care for clients.
Assist with CAC events or board meetings as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Clinical Director.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
Texas licensure to provide therapy (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Ph.D.) or working toward licensure with approved supervision (LPC-Associate, LMSW).
Experience working with children and families affected by abuse or trauma preferred.
Knowledge of child development, and trauma-informed care.
Experience conducting assessments and identifying appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Strong communication, documentation and collaboration skills.
Ability to pass CPS and criminal background checks.
