The Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center was honored to join Representative Shelby Slawson and Senator Brian Birdwell at the Granbury Chamber Leaders Luncheon this week. The event provided an inspiring opportunity to connect with community leaders who share our dedication to protecting and supporting children and families across Hood, Erath, and Somervell counties.

Representative Slawson and Senator Birdwell have long been strong advocates for the safety, healing, and hope of children in our community. Their continued partnership and leadership play a vital role in ensuring that organizations like PRCAC can continue to provide compassionate, multidisciplinary care to children who have experienced abuse and trauma.

This luncheon held special significance as President Donald Trump announced his nomination of Senator Birdwell to serve as Assistant Secretary of Defense — a tremendous and well-deserved recognition of his lifelong service, integrity, and dedication to our country. Senator Birdwell’s faith and strength, shared so powerfully in his I Am Second testimony recounting his survival of the September 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon, continue to inspire us all.

As Senator Birdwell prepares for this next chapter of service, our team at the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center joins in gratitude for his leadership, his family’s steadfast support, and his continued example of courage and compassion.

We remain grateful to both Senator Birdwell and Representative Slawson for their commitment to our mission helping ensure that every child has a voice and every story is heard.

Together, we are Building Hope.
